Report from the press conference and online seminar “CLARIN-PL-Biz – Language Technologies for Learning and Business”
The CLARIN-PL (Common Language Resources and Technology Infrastructure) Consortium had a pleasure to hold a press conference and online seminar on March 16 at 13:15-16:35. During the press conference, project coordinator Maciej Piasecki, Ph.D., gave a short talk on the genesis of the CLARIN-PL project, its members and the current offer. He also indicated the main objectives, which are defined as follows: extending the already established CLARIN-PL research infrastructure, providing access to universal language technology components, and constructing an IT architecture designed for linguistic and multimodal big data mining. After this short talk, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions. The issues discussed ranged from the CLARIN-PL infrastructure to individual research conducted by conference participants as well as to their future research needs.
The second part of the event was realized in the form of a seminar and was divided into 9 blocks. After each of them, questions from the audience were answered. The topics of the individual blocks can be found below:
- Introduction
- CLARIN BIZ for storing and processing big language data
- Language resources – knowledge sources and training patterns for machine learning
- Basic tools for language analysis
- Speech processing service
- Semantic analysis of texts
- Dialogue systems: basic, scaffolding and modular systems for the Polish language
- Sentiment analysis (emotional overtones in text)
- Selected planned CLARIN-PL-Biz applications
All presentations of the above blocks are available here.
Besides, we encourage you to read the Clarin-PL-Biz information folder, which was created to introduce our organizational structure and the current offer. It is available at the following link: …
